A GraphQL shipping API with API keys, webhooks, a sandbox and data exports, plus workflows you can define as code.
GraphQL API
Rate, ship, manage orders and items, search records and start exports through one GraphQL API. Production and sandbox each have their own endpoint. Requests authenticate with an API key sent as a Bearer token.

API reference
Public docs for the API, with a quickstart and pages on authentication, errors, rating, shipping, orders, items, searching, exports and the sandbox. A generated explorer lists every query, mutation and type in the schema. You can read it without an account.
Apps and API keys
Create an app for each integration, give it roles, and it gets an API key for the environment you created it in. Rotate a key to issue a replacement, or pause it and resume it later. The app can only do what its roles allow.

Send record changes to your own endpoint as they happen. Each webhook watches one record type for created, updated or deleted events. Deliveries are signed with HMAC-SHA256, and every attempt shows in the delivery history.
How ShipGenius differs
Each webhook can be narrowed to the fields you care about, a condition, a saved filter or one integration, so your endpoint only gets the events it needs. Disabling a webhook queues its deliveries instead of dropping them.
Sandbox
Build and test your integration against a separate copy of the API with its own accounts and keys. Billing runs in Stripe test mode and carrier calls go to each carrier's test environment, so no money moves and labels come back watermarked. A badge in the toolbar shows whenever you're in the sandbox. Build full test pipelines before deploying to any production facing application.
How ShipGenius differs
UPS, USPS and FedEx work in the sandbox without registering anything, using ShipGenius house test accounts. Addresses, dimensions and services are still checked by the carrier, so a rejection in the sandbox matches what production would do. These are live carrier sandbox labels directly from their API's, this is the best simulation you'll find for this.
Data export API
Start a CSV or JSON export of any record type through the API. Use it to pull shipments, orders, items and other records into your own systems.

Workflows as code
Every workflow is a YAML document you can read and edit, with saved versions. Steps can call outside services over HTTP using stored secrets. A dry run shows what a workflow would do before you let it run.
How ShipGenius differs
These YAML documents can be written by any AI model. We have clear instructions for AI to interpret the YAML syntax and create customized workflows without a developer on staff.
