Ship in own box

Ship a single unit in the retail box it came in. ShipGenius uses the item's own dimensions and adds no packaging weight. The Item's own box option shows in packout, rapid batches and order rate shop when the order is one unit with dimensions on file.

How it works

Some items ship in the retail box they came in. Choose Item's own box and that box is the shipping carton. ShipGenius uses the item's length, width and height for the package and adds no packaging weight, so the unit is only weighed once.

When it's offered

The option is there when a carton holds exactly one unit and that item has its length, width and height on file. Otherwise it's turned off, with a note that only a single unit with dimensions can ship in its own box.

An order with two boxed units ships them as two cartons, each holding one unit in its own box.

Where you'll find it

  • Packout: in the box choice for any carton that qualifies.
  • Rapid batches: beside the carton list on the work card.
  • Mass batches: on the Carton step, when every order in the batch is one unit with dimensions.
  • Rate Shop: on an order with one unit left to ship.

Set up your items

Enter the dimensions on each item that ships this way. The package is rated on those dimensions, so an item without them won't get the option.
