Rate card details

Each rate shows which account it uses, how much you save against the retail price, and a breakdown of the price. After you buy, the shipment record shows the billing weight and every itemized charge.

What each rate shows

Every rate in the list is a card with the carrier, the service and the total price. The line under the service name fills in the rest.

  • Delivery estimate: The estimated delivery date from the carrier.
  • Account: Which account the rate uses. ShipGenius rates say ShipGenius, rates on your own account show the account number, and business USPS rates say USPS NSA.
  • Saving: What the same service costs at the retail price, and the percentage you save against it.

The price line

Under the total, the card breaks down the price. It shows the price before fees, any fee for buying on your own carrier account, and the amount taken off by a discount code. The total is what you pay for that label.

After you buy

Open the shipment from Shipments and expand Costs to see what the label cost.

  • Total price and Base price: The label's total and its base price.
  • Dimensional weight: The weight the carrier billed on. When it's higher than the weight you entered, the box size is driving the price.
  • Itemized charges: Each charge on the label, such as base charge, fuel surcharge, insurance or discount, with the carrier's own charge code and description.
