Remember this device

Tick Remember this device when you sign in, and that device skips the second factor next time. Stop remembering a device from Devices & sessions whenever you want.

How it works

When sign-in asks for your second factor, tick Remember this device before you enter the code. The next time you sign in on that device, it skips the second-factor step.

When to use it

Remember devices that only you use. On a shared or public computer, leave the box unticked.

Stop remembering a device

Open Devices & sessions. Remembered devices are marked Remembered. Choose the stop-remembering button on a device and confirm. That device has to pass a two-factor check at its next sign-in.

A device can only be remembered again by ticking the box during sign-in.

Other times devices are forgotten

  • Deactivating your account forgets every trusted device.
  • Locking your account from the password-reset email makes every trusted device pass a check again.
  • Blocking a device signs out its sessions and stops it from signing in.
