Item customs profiles

Save customs details once and assign them to your items. A profile holds the HS code, country of origin, food or perishable flag, USMCA origin criterion and identifying marks. Items also carry a GTIN and manufacturer part number.

How it works

A customs profile holds the customs details for an item, so you enter them once and reuse them. Create one under Items, in Customs. Then assign it to items in the Associations section of the item form.

What a profile holds

  • Name and Description
  • HS Code and Country of Origin
  • Food or Perishable
  • USMCA Origin Criterion
  • Identifying Code Marking and Default Originator Name
  • GTIN and Manufacturer Part Number

Each profile lists its Assigned Items, so you can see every item that uses it.

Profiles in packout

Packout's International Customs Check reads each item's profile on an international order. An item with no customs information, or one missing its HS code, description or country of origin, is listed with what's wrong. You can fix the profile from the same window without leaving packout.

Read Customs Declarations and Commercial Invoices in the knowledge base for more on each field.
