Customs parties

Save your importer and exporter parties with their tax ids. They're kept in one list so you don't have to enter them again for each shipment.

How it works

A customs party is an importer, exporter or seller on an international order or shipment, with its tax ID. Parties are saved and kept in one list, so you can look them up later.

What a party holds

  • Company, First Name and Last Name
  • Address, and whether it's Residential
  • Phone and Email
  • Tax ID Type, Tax ID Number and Tax ID Issuing Country

Where parties come from

An order's customs can name an exporter, an importer and a seller, and each one is a customs party. When you enter an importer tax ID on an order, it's saved as the order's importer party.

The Fill in customs workflow action can set the exporter, importer and seller on orders too.

On the order

Open an order's customs to see its parties in the Parties section. Each party opens to its own record with the full address and tax ID.

Read Customs Declarations and Commercial Invoices in the knowledge base for more on each field.
