Consumables
List the packing materials you use, like cartons, mailers, polybags, inserts and dunnage. Record the vendor and a link for reordering, and the USPS processing category for packaging. Your cartons show up in the carton list at packout.
How it works
Consumables are the packing materials you keep on hand. Add one under Items, in Consumables, with New Consumable.
What a consumable records
- Name and Category: such as carton, envelope mailer, polybag, bubble mailer, bubble wrap, foam, packing peanuts, air pillows, kraft paper or tape.
- Vendor and Vendor Product Link: who you buy it from and where to reorder it.
- USPS Processing Category: letters, flats, machinable or non-machinable, for packaging.
- Notes: anything else your team should know.
Cartons in packout
Cartons, polybags and bubble mailers you add under Items, in Packaging, with a SKU and dimensions, are the boxes packout offers in its carton list. Packers pick one or scan its SKU.
Requirements
Link a consumable to the items that need it with a consumable requirement. Packers then see it under Packing materials in the ship checklist.
