Permission explanations

Before your phone asks for camera, Bluetooth, location or contacts access, ShipGenius explains what it's for. If you said no, an Open Settings button takes you to where you can turn it back on.

How it works

The mobile app asks for device access only when a feature needs it. Before your phone shows its own permission prompt, ShipGenius explains what the access is for.

  • Camera: scan barcodes and QR codes instead of typing them in.
  • Bluetooth: find and connect to supported thermal label printers.
  • Location: fill in your ship-from address.
  • Contacts: import names and mailing addresses as saved shipping addresses.
  • Notifications: notify this device when something you subscribe to happens, even while the app is closed.

Choose Continue to go on to your phone's prompt, or Not now to skip it.

If you said no

If you turned the access down before, the explanation says it's off and shows Open Settings, which takes you to the app's settings on your phone. When you come back, ShipGenius checks again by itself, so there's nothing else to tap.
