Packout settings

Each user sets their own packout preferences in Settings, Packout & printing. Turn on auto-ship, skip completed orders, auto-validate addresses, require scan verify, show order notes and play a sound on scan. The same page sets your label printer, packing slip printer, label format and scale.

How it works

Open Settings, Packout & printing, or select Packout settings from the menu in packout. The page has two parts.

Packout behavior

These switches are saved to your user, so they follow you to any device.

  • Auto-ship when all items packed: ship as soon as every item is in a carton.
  • Skip completed orders: hide shipped, canceled and held orders from batch lists.
  • Auto-validate addresses: validate shipping addresses before labels are created.
  • Require scan verify: items go into cartons by scan only.
  • Show order notes: show customer notes and special instructions.
  • Play sound on scan: play a warning sound when a scan is turned away.

Device settings

Printer and scale settings are saved on the device you set them on.

  • Label Printer: the printer for shipping labels, and its format, PDF, PNG or ZPL.
  • Packing Slip Printer: packing slips always print as PDF.
  • Default Label Format: used when a printer has no format of its own.
  • Scale: a USB scale and the weight unit it reads in.

In a web browser, these need the ShipGenius Device Server app running, and the page links to downloads for macOS, Windows and Linux. In the phone app, this section sets up a Bluetooth printer.
