Short ship

Ship an order without all of its items. Short ship is available while you're packing the order and ships what's in the cartons. It needs the short ship permission, or an admin can approve it on the packer's screen.

How it works

Sometimes an order can't ship complete. Pack what you have, then open the order's actions in packout and select Short Ship. The order ships with the cartons you've packed and is marked partially shipped.

Short Ship is only available while you're packing the order, and it needs at least one carton with items in it.

Rating and holds

The shipment is rated when you short ship, for the cartons you actually packed. If the carrier refuses it, the order goes on hold with the carrier's error as the reason.

Permission

Short shipping needs the short ship permission. When a packer doesn't have it, an admin can approve it on the packer's screen with their own two-factor code, and the packer gets temporary use of the permission.

In Rate Shop

Rate Shop on an order offers Ship only what's packed when some items aren't packed yet. Users without the permission see a note to pack the rest or ask someone who has it.
