Workflow logic and integrations

Add logic to a workflow with if/else, repeat for each, and record lookups. Call a web address, run a script, remember a value, write to the run log, or stop and skip steps.

How it works

Beyond actions, a workflow has steps that control the flow and reach outside ShipGenius. They sit in the same builder and the same YAML document.

Logic

  • If … then / else: Do different things for different orders, such as international or domestic, or gift or not.
  • Repeat for each: Run steps once per item in a list, such as each line on the order.
  • Look up records: Search any record type and use the results, such as other open orders or an item's details.
  • Remember a value: Name a value once and use it in later steps.
  • Stop the loop, Skip to the next item and Stop the run.

Integrations

  • Call a web address: Send a request to another system, such as an ERP or a chat channel, and use the reply. Put tokens in workflow secrets and reference them in the headers.
  • Run a script: Write shared steps once as a script and call them from any workflow, with their own inputs.
  • Write to the run log: Leave a note for whoever reads the run later.

Limits

A run can repeat up to 10,000 times, call web addresses up to 50 times, and chain scripts 3 deep. A web call can carry on when it fails, if you set it to.

Read The Workflow System for each block's settings.
