Change inventory status
Use Move to shift units between new, sellable, damaged, on hold, frozen and gone. Use Recount to enter the quantities you counted. Every change needs a reason and can take a comment.
How ShipGenius differs
Every change to inventory goes through Change status with a reason, so each quantity on a record can be traced to who changed it and why. Move and Recount cover moving units between statuses and correcting a count.
How it works
Open Change status from an inventory record, an item page or a location page. It has two tabs.
Move
Move units from one status to another. Enter the units, then choose From and To. The statuses are new, sellable, damaged, on hold, frozen and gone. Use it when a unit is found damaged, put on hold, frozen, or written off.
Recount
Enter what you counted. The form shows each quantity as it is now, for on hand, damaged, on hold and frozen, so you only change the ones that are wrong.
Reasons and comments
Every change needs one of 11 reasons, such as damaged, expiration, missing or receiving. Add a comment for anything the reason doesn't cover.
Where changes go
Each change is recorded in the inventory history with its reason, amount, related order, comment and the user who made it. Open the history from a record or a facility total.
Moving between locations
To move units to another location in the same facility, use Move to location. To send them to another facility, use transfer.
