Locations

Name the locations in each facility and give them a pick sequence. An inactive location keeps its inventory but can't receive more. Each location page lists what's stored there.

How it works

Locations are the named shelves, bins and areas in each facility. Open Inventory, then Locations, to see and add them.

What a location has

  • Name: the label on the shelf, bin or area. Each name is unique within its facility.
  • Facility: where the location is.
  • Pick Sequence: where the location falls on the pick walk. Pick lists go up the sequence, with ties broken by name.
  • Active: whether inventory can still be placed there.

Inactive locations

Turn a location off and it keeps the inventory already in it, but nothing more can be placed there.

The location page

Each location page lists the inventory stored there. Use Change inventory status on the page to move units between statuses or enter a recount for what's on the shelf.

Locations from a CSV

When you import inventory from a CSV, a location named in the file that doesn't exist at the facility yet is created for you.
