Connecting a Store to ShipGenius
Learn how to connect your eBay, Shopify, or Wix store to ShipGenius so you can import orders and ship them directly from your dashboard.
Connecting a store to ShipGenius lets you pull in orders from your sales channels and ship them without manually entering recipient details. This article covers how to connect each supported platform, what to do when a connection expires, and how to manage or remove connections.
Supported Platforms
ShipGenius currently supports the following store platforms:
- eBay — connected via OAuth. ShipGenius redirects you to eBay to authorize the connection.
- Shopify — connected via the ShipGenius app on the Shopify App Store.
- Wix — connected via the ShipGenius app on the Wix Marketplace.
Shopify and Wix integrations are currently pending platform approval and will be available soon. eBay is available now.
How to Connect a Store
You can start the store connection flow from the Create Shipping Labels page. Click the Connect a Store button in the top-right of the page header. This opens the store connection picker where you can select your platform.
Connecting eBay
Select eBay from the connection picker. ShipGenius will redirect you to eBay's authorization page where you'll log in and grant ShipGenius permission to access your orders. Once you approve, you'll be sent back to ShipGenius automatically and your eBay store will appear in your connected stores list.
eBay tokens expire on a fixed schedule. When your token expires, your connection will show as unauthorized and you'll need to reauthenticate — see the Reauthenticating an Expired Connection section below.
Connecting Shopify
Select Shopify from the connection picker. You'll be taken to the ShipGenius listing on the Shopify App Store. Install the app from there and follow the prompts to authorize it for your store. Shopify is currently pending approval — check back soon.
Connecting Wix
Select Wix from the connection picker. You'll be directed to the ShipGenius app on the Wix Marketplace to install it. Wix tokens are tied to the app installation rather than a time-based expiry — your connection stays active as long as the app is installed in your Wix account. Wix is currently pending approval — check back soon.
Viewing Your Connected Stores
All connected stores are displayed in the Connected Stores section on the Create Shipping Labels page, just to the right of your Ship From address. Each store shows its platform logo and a set of action icons for managing that connection.
If any of your connections have become unauthorized, a red alert will appear above the store list explaining what happened and what to do.
Managing a Connection
Each connected store card has three action icons:
- Shopping cart icon — Opens the order management panel for that store, where you can view and import orders.
- Key icon — Initiates reauthentication for that store. Use this when a connection has expired.
- Trash icon — Deletes the store connection entirely, including any locally cached orders. You can reconnect at any time.
Reauthenticating an Expired Connection
Some platforms — eBay, Shopify, Amazon, WooCommerce, and Squarespace — issue tokens that expire on a fixed schedule. When a token expires, your store card will appear with a warning and the red alert at the top of the list will call it out by name.
To reauthenticate, click the key icon on the expired store card. This opens the connection flow directly for that platform, skipping the picker. Complete the authorization steps and your connection will be restored.
Wix connections do not expire on a timer. If your Wix connection shows as unauthorized, it means the app was uninstalled from your Wix account. To restore it, you'll need to reinstall the ShipGenius app from the Wix Marketplace.
Deleting a Store Connection
Click the trash icon on the store card and confirm the prompt. Deleting a connection removes it from ShipGenius and clears all locally cached orders for that platform. Your orders are not affected on the platform itself. You can reconnect the store at any time using the Connect a Store button.
FAQs
Why does my eBay connection keep expiring?
eBay issues OAuth tokens with a fixed expiry window. When your token expires, ShipGenius can no longer access your orders until you reauthenticate. Click the key icon on your eBay store card to go through the authorization flow again — it only takes a moment.
Why is my Wix store showing as unauthorized?
Unlike OAuth platforms, Wix tokens are tied to the app installation rather than a timer. If your Wix connection is unauthorized, it means the ShipGenius app was uninstalled from your Wix account. Reinstall it from the Wix Marketplace to restore the connection.
Will deleting a connection affect my orders on the platform?
No. Deleting a connection in ShipGenius only removes it from ShipGenius and clears locally cached order data. Nothing changes on your eBay, Shopify, or Wix account.
Can I connect more than one store at a time?
Yes. You can connect multiple stores across different platforms and they'll all appear in the Connected Stores section. Each one can be managed independently.
When will Shopify and Wix be available?
Both are pending approval from their respective marketplaces. They'll become available in ShipGenius as soon as those approvals come through.
